March 2020, a month after which all of our lives were forever changed. The COVID-19 pandemic altered what was considered normal in a drastic manner. Social distancing, masks, lockdowns... measures such as these were put in place to protect the overall public. However, what toll have these measures, along with online schooling, taken on the mental health and grades of students? We constructed a survey and shared it with our school’s student population. The survey, completed anonymously, covered academic and mental health aspects of St. Mary’s High School students' lives. The responses received showed some trends, which will be explained further within our report. We hope that our research and data, along with our suggestions, will be used to create a better learning environment for students and decrease any stigma around seeking help for mental health struggles.

This pandemic will end, and the task force is committed to working as hard as we can with Public Health and our institutions to advocate, support and enable as needed until everyone in Grey-Bruce who wants a vaccine can get one. Together we will beat this by being at our best and showing unity.

As per yesterday's announcement, the Government of Ontario has called for all schools in the province to move to remote learning after the spring break, in response to worsening trends in key health indicators across the province.
