Girls Curling
The Miracle on Ice 2023!!!! Yesterday your girls curling team accomplished a feat unheard of in the world of sports. In their final game needing a win, the girls were down 6-0 heading into the last four ends. Needless to say, they pulled off an incredible win! Shoutout to Camille the lead of all leads, Zoe the takeout Queen, Maggie the sweeping monster, Claire how did she make that shot Rands, and X-factor Lyndsay. We are so proud of the Lady Mustangs for this amazing win, this gets them a spot in CWOSSA and keeps the train chugging on the road to OFSAA!!!!!!

Nordic Mustangs
Yesterday the Nordic Mustangs traveled to the Sawmill Nordic Centre in Hepworth to compete in the 2023 CWOSSA Championship. Despite quickly deteriorating snow conditions and torrential rain fall, the Nordic Mustangs were able to push through the slush and standing water to show their technical prowess and skill. Congratulations to the entire Nordic team. Special congratulations to the Junior Girls relay team for placing 1st and the Junior Boys for placing 3rd in their categories. A big shout out to Sophia Kocher for placing 2nd in the Senior Girls Individual race, Olivier Lafleur for placing 3rd in the Junior Boys Individual Open race, and Michelle Kocher for placing 1st and Maisie MacDonald for placing 3rd in the Junior Girls Individual race. We were truly a miracle on snow, then slush, all while dodging the brown outs and standing water.
Mustangs… we are headed to OFSAA!!
(Mandatory meeting in Clark’s room at lunch)
Improv Team
The Improv Team traveled to Guelph yesterday to compete in the Canadian Improv Games. They solved a poisoned teapot mystery, nearly got consumed by Theme Event, tamed a rabid rabbit in a cold bath, stood by each other in the Life Event, and used a Mark-load of tickets to win “What’s In the Box?”
The team currently sits in first place in the round robin standings, a first for St. Mary’s! Way to go!! They will be scoreboard watching for the next couple of days to learn their playoff standing. There will be a team meeting Friday at lunch to go over the possibilities.
