Girls Field Lacrosse

Congratulations to the lady mustangs on making it to and competing in the OFSAA sanctioned Trillium Cup held in Oshawa last Wednesday and Thursday. The girls finished 6th overall and should be incredibly proud of their hard work! They opened the tournament with a 15-11 loss against Maxwell but were able to come out strong with an 11-4 win over Lorne Park in game #2. The girls unfortunately would go on to lose the next two games, 9-4 against OSDSS & 8-4 against Malvern!! Goal scorers of the tournament were Tara Meikle, Jillian Goldie, Edyn Beyer, Ariawna Jackson & Emma Bryan. Gillian Warren was amazing in net. Special shout out to the following graduating players- captain Tara Meikle, Jenna Bridge, and Meghan Prentice. We will miss you and wish you all the best in your future endeavors. There will be a brief but important wrap up meeting in portable 6 tomorrow at lunch.

CONGRATULATIONS TO GABE KRUISSELBRINK on winning OFSAA Gold for Junior Boys Javelin at York University this past weekend!!!

Despite fierce competition, Gabe was able to throw a personal best of 55.16m, leaving his opponents in the dust in the 5th round of competition. Gabe captured first place finishes throughout the season at BAAs, CWOSSA, OFSAA West and finally OFSAA.

Honorable mention goes out to Claire Rands on her efforts this past weekend in the 800m and 1500m runs at York. Claire represented St. Mary’s High School with class and determination throughout the competition and narrowly missed qualifying for the finals in her races.
