Girls’ Varsity Soccer

After beating out SDSS in OT and SHHS at the CWOSSA Qualifiers on Tuesday, the Girls’ Varsity Soccer Team beat SDSS 2-1 in the semi-final at BAA Championship Day yesterday in Walkerton.

Keeper Inari Harjunmaa was unstoppable, keeping the Mustangs in their games. Scorers include Lynn van der Laan and Ilona Remsu.

The girls advanced to the finals where they faced off against SHHS. Unfortunately the girls undefeated streak came to an end, and they lost 3-2 in OT. Scorers include Mackenzie Falls and Felicity Watson.

Ms. Nicholson is beyond proud of you ladies; you played your hearts out.

Best of Luck at CWOSSA on Tuesday in Brantford.

Canada Wide Science Fair Results

Congratulations to Abby Vereecke and Anna Siekierzycki who competed at the Canada Wide Science Fair this week.  Both Abby and Anna represented St. Mary’s High School and Bruce and Grey Counties very well at this very prestigious event.  It has been stated that it is more difficult to earn a spot at Canada Wide than it is to break into the NHL!!  Anna was awarded a Bronze Medal for her achievement and Abby has garnered attention from many influential business leaders regarding how to improve the ways in which our society avoids wasting food that is still fit for consumption.
