Dear Parents and Caregivers,
Welcome Back to St. Mary’s High School 2021-2022!
We are so excited to have our school open for in-person learning and have our students returning to our building. We have been working hard to prepare for this coming school year. We will be opening with some restrictions and changes. The purpose of this letter is to inform you of what to expect next week and moving forward.
Please use our school website https://smhs.bgcdsb.org/ as well as the board website https://www.bgcdsb.org/ to inform yourselves about the COVID Protocols for this school year. There is a very comprehensive guide on the board website Return to School Protocol.
SMHS Key Point Summary for September 2021 return:
- ALL students return to school on Tuesday September 7th, 2021.
- ALL students will complete a daily Student COVID Self-Assessment.
- ALL students will be required to wear masks.
- Lockers will be used to start the year.
- The Cafeteria will be open for food sales and for limited seating.
- We will begin clubs and teams this year. Late taxis will be available starting Thursday September 9th, 2021. Sign up in the Main Office before class or before the end of lunch to book. Students are encouraged to ask their teachers for more details about late taxis if needed.
- Schedule: Students will have one class in the morning and one class in the afternoon for an entire week. They will complete their third and fourth class the following week. Please see the link below for further details.
