All Schools Moving To Remote Learning Following Spring Break

In terms of technology, students from Gr. 4-12 already have a device assigned to them and it should be at home. If you require a device for your child in Gr. K-3, or a student in Gr. 4-12 needs to pick up their device, please reach out to your school principal.

 

Since this closure was announced during the Spring Break, lessons for Monday, April 19 will be presented in an asynchronous manner as our education staff move to remote learning. Please check your child's Google Classroom as of Monday, April 19 for information from classroom teachers. During this time in remote learning, attendance is required and will be taken daily. It is important that you contact the school to report your child’s absence. At this time, we do not have a scheduled return date but as soon as we hear from the Ministry of Education we will let families know.

 

For those students with complex special education needs, principals and staff will be working with families, as they did in January, to make arrangements for in person learning to begin by the middle of next week.

 

The Minister of Education announced yesterday additional learning at home resources are available to families who wish to access them. Elementary Students can access TVO Learn and TFO IDÉLLO, apprendre à la maison, which provide supports for students learning remotely by accessing additional educational resources. Secondary students can continue to access TVO’s Independent Learning Centre (ILC) Open House and Portes ouvertes pour les cours TVO ILC in French-language. Eurêka is a service available to French-language students and families that provides resources and supports for all subjects, Grades 1-12.

 

Mental Health Supports are available. In addition, School Mental Health Ontario has many great resources for students, parents and families.

St. Isidore Virtual School will operate as per its regular schedule.

During these times when we see a rise of Covid-19 cases and the Variants of Concern it is important that we have fidelity to the safety protocols such as stay at home, wear a mask, wash your hands and keep 2 meters distance. We all need to do our part to keep everyone safe.
